SWISSAM Induction Week

SWISSAM Hospitality Business & Culinary Arts School, from 19th to 23rd of September, held an induction week for students of the IMI International Hospitality Management UG Program. 

Students have taken part in a series of tours, ranging from a sightseeing excursion of our unique and picturesque Saint-Petersburg to visits of our partners - the leaders of the hospitality industry.

Students visited the legendary restaurant "Palkin", that has retained its original name and location. The friendly owners shared their experience in the hospitality industry, conducted a tour in the classic Russian cuisine restaurant and the students were shown historical rooms which featured stucco and crystal chandeliers, antique furniture and magnificent paintings.

There was also a visit to the hotel "Corinthia St. Petersburg", located in the immediate vicinity of the main architectural and historical monuments of the city, which left nobody indifferent. Here, among the elegant interiors in a modernist style, filled with works of art, visitors are welcomed into an atmosphere of luxury, elegance and world-class hospitality. Students were kindly offered to go up to the 8th floor of the restaurant and access the terrace to admire stunning views.

The final tour was a visit to the Radisson Royal Hotel, located in the heart of St. Petersburg, on Nevsky Prospect, in a building which was constructed in the 18th century, the hallmark of which is the majestic and original facade, which was renovated in 2001. With a rich history, the building is associated with many famous names such as Mikhail Glinka, Nikolay Nekrasov, Alexander Pushkin, Anton Chekhov, Vasily Surikov. Representatives of the hotel told the students about the reception, back & front office, the reservation system.

Classes and activities of induction week helped our freshmen students to adapt to a student life in our SWISSAM Business school.
